Mr. October – Round Two!

We have been provided the opportunity to partner with the MrOctober Foundation and engage our students in STEM programming in an effort to “bridge the digital divide.”   More information about the program and foundation can be found here.

We invite your student to participate in our first teacher led virtual STEM project. Students will be learning about LED’s, the use of batteries, as well as series and parallel circuits by building their very own game of Operation!

We have already done this with one group and are offering it to a second group. Mr. James, our instructional coach and Ms. O’Connor, one of our science teachers will lead the project virtually. Google Meet information will be provided when you pick up the kit.  Below are the days and times this project will be offered.  Your child will need to commit to being present during both sessions.

You may pick up a kit any day next week from 8am – 3pm.

Wednesday, December 9th from 3pm – 5pm

Monday, December 14th from 3pm – 5pm

Attendance Incentive – Remind your Student!

Parents!  We NEED your help ensuring our students are successful in a virtual learning environment.  Success starts with attendance in classes.  If students are not attending, learning does not occur!

In an effort to increase attendance, we are running a contest from November 30th – December 16th.  All students that attend all of their classes during this time frame will be entered into a drawing for a pizza dinner for the family that will be delivered directly to your house on Friday, December 18th!  We will randomly select one winner from each grade.

Wayne Westland Online Learning

We are now accepting applications for Semester Two Enrollment of Wayne-Westland Online Learning.  Applications will be available online from November through December 10th. Applications are due no later than December 10, 2020.

This application will enroll students into our program for the Second Semester for the school year, classes will start January 19, 2021. Each student applying in each family needs to fill out a separate application. Click the links below for the grade appropriate form:

Middle School Application

Please be advised that the virtual program offered this year is taught by teachers throughout the nation, while mentors from Wayne-Westland monitor progress, activity and communication. Wayne-Westland mentors serve as a liaison between the student, parent, and Edgenuity teachers and staff.  This program is self-paced and requires active engagement and active learning from each student.  Once enrolled in the program, students will be required to continue with Edgenuity education for the remainder of the school year, regardless of the changes in the Return to Learn Plan offered by Wayne-Westland School District

Food Distribution

Food Distribution will resume on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Adams.

Kroger Community Rewards
