Picture Retake Day – October 4, 2022
Chromebooks
Please make sure your students are charging Chromebooks every evening so they are fully charged for the following day. These are used frequently and when devices are not charged, learning is delayed due to time spent charging or trying to locate their charger.
2022/2023 District handbook and Code of Conduct
All students will be bringing home a district handbook and code of conduct in the new few days. This handbook contains school contact information, the district calendar, expectations and more. Please review it and keep it to refer to as necessary.
Fundraising Kickoff Next Week!
Our first Fundraiser with Otis Spunkmeyer kicks off on Monday! All materials and and registration instructions will be sent home then. All money raised will be put directly towards individual 8th grade DC trips and 6th and 7th grade activities, incentives and trips as well! More information will be sent home on Monday!
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Our parent teacher conferences will be held virtually again this year. They will take place the evening of 10/11/22 and afternoon and evening 10/1222. Instructions regarding how to sign up will be sent home early next week.
Trunk or Treat
Please complete this survey as we look to plan a fall trunk or treat event.
8th Grade Washington D.C. Trip
We are excited to announce that we will be taking our 8th grade students to Gettysburg and Washington D.C. with Stevenson and Franklin Middle School.
We have three buses reserved. The trip will be first come, first served. Once we fill one bus, students will be waitlisted to ensure we can fill a second bus. The waitlisted student’s trip will be confirmed once bus two fills. The same process will be in place for bus three. If we can not fill bus two or three, those waitlisted will be refunded. This is why it is very important to reserve your spot as soon as possible. You can do that here.
Please be on the look-out for fundraising information to come home in the next week or so. The more you fundraise, the less you will pay towards the cost of the trip.

Household Information Form Contest – Forms Due Monday!
Wayne-Westland Community Schools will be participating in a new option available to schools as part of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the school year 2022-2023
The GREAT NEWS is that ALL students enrolled at our school are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at NO CHARGE to your household each day of the 2022-2023 school year.
We are asking that you fill out and sign the Application for Household Information Report which is located on the Meal Magic Family Portal. This form is needed for administrative purposes, not to determine eligibility. This survey allows our school to benefit from various State and Federal supplemental programs like Title I A, At Risk (31s), Title II A, E -Rate, etc. This survey is critical in determining the amount of money the school receives from a variety of supplemental programs. We are asking that you please complete and submit it as soon as possible. Once filled out, please submit a hard copy to the main office of your school and your child will be entered into our gift card raffle!

Friendly Reminders:
- If you need to pick up your child from school early, please do so by 2:00 pm
- You will be required to show your ID upon entering the building. Please do not allow anyone else to follow in behind you and please make sure the door closes behind you
- You will not be able to enter the building during passing time, at arrival or dismissal. You will need to wait until our hallways are clear before entering
- You are not permitted in the hallways. You will be required to wait in the office until your appointment time or your child is ready to go home
