Upcoming Holiday Events

Choral Celebration – December 13, 2022

Come join the second Choral Celebration of the year at Wayne Memorial High School December 13th. This FREE Concert begins at 7PM in Stockmeyer Auditorium.

Featured performers include:

PD Graham Husky Howlers
Adams MS Regal Eagles
Franklin MS Harmonizing Hornets
Stevenson MS Singing Saints
Wayne Memorial HS Zebra Chorale

This Choral Celebration will last approximately 50 minutes and feature the music of Z. Randall Stroope, PDQ Bach, Victor C. Johnson, Stephen Flaherty, Jim Papoulis, and more!

Winter Glitter Dance – December 15, 2022

We are excited to offer a night of dancing and fun! This event will take place on December 15, 2022 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

$5.00 tickets went on sale this week, during lunch. The cost of the ticket will get each student entry to the dance, a slice of pizza, bag of chips, and pop. Tickets will be available at the door for $6.00. Additional items will also be for sale.

Students that have had excessive tardies, have been suspended from school or had major office referrals will not be eligible to attend.

Adams MS Winter Instrumental Music Concert

Event Details:

Friday, December 16, 2022 at 7PM

Wayne Memorial High School: Stockmeyer Auditorium (3001 4th St, Wayne, MI 48184)

Spectator entrance is through the main auditorium entrance located off of Glenwood Road

Performer/Student Details
  • All Band/String ensembles will be participating in this event (6 Band, 6 Strings, Cadet Band, Concert Strings, Concert Band)
  • DRESS: Students are to wear concert black (black shirt, full length all black pants, all black socks, all black shoes w/ black laces)
  • Students can enter through the external band room doors.
  • Students are expected to be present and perform in this Winter Concert as it is a graded part of the Instrumental Music Classroom
  • CALL TIMES:
    • 6th Grade Band: 6:10PM
    • 6th Grade Strings: 6:00PM
    • Cadet Band: 6:10PM
    • Concert Strings: 6:00PM
    • Concert Band: 6:20PM

Winter Recess

Winter recess will begin on December 26, 2022. School we resume on January 9, 2023.

Student vs Staff Basketball Game

On Wednesday, December 21, 2022 beginning at 3:30 pm, we will be having our 2nd annual Student vs Staff Basketball Game. This game will be a fundraiser for PBIS, and students will need to purchase a ticket in advance for $2.00 from the counseling office. We will be selling snacks for $1.00 and offering half court throws at half time also for $1.00 for a chance to win a prize.

Staff who chose to participate in the game chose an 8th grade student to play against, and will be sponsoring them for the game.

This event is first come, first served to the first 250 to purchase tickets.

College Opportunities

Wayne-Westland Early College Now Accepting Applications (middle and high school) Wayne-Westland Early College provides high school students an opportunity to simultaneously complete the high school diploma and an associate degree at no cost to families. The application window closes on February 14, 2023. Learn more here.

8th Grade Washington D.C. Trip

We have now moved to a waitlist – use this link here to see how to get your student on the waitlist.

If your child participated in the first fundraiser, his or her profit will be applied to the balance owed for his or her trip.

Family Resource Center

Wayne-Westland Community Schools has a Family Resource Center (FRC), which provides services to any student/family enrolled in our District, free of cost. Some of the services they provide are: basic need assistance, access to over 600 local resources, Laundry Assistance Program and material items for those unable to afford them (emergency toiletries, socks/underwear, hats/gloves/scarves, etc.) They are also able to supply school supplies and backpacks year round for any WWCS student.

Please contact our Family Resource Center at: 734-419-2709 or FRC@wwcsd.net. Our FRC also has a Digital Request for Services Form, which can be used to request assistance by filling out a simple form. Please contact the Family Resource Center directly with any additional questions regarding their services.

 

Gleaners Food Distribution

The distribution at Adams on December 15, 2022 has been canceled.

Mental Health Support

Care Solace is a complimentary and confidential service provided by Wayne-Westland Community Schools. This is a free service to students, families and staff. Care Solace helps connect individuals to mental health or substance abuse providers. They will call providers, verify insurance and help to make appointments. Contact Care Solace by calling 888-515-0595 or visiting caresolace.com/wwcsd and click “Book Appointment.” Support is available 24 hours a day 365 day a year in any language.

 

Friendly Reminders:

  • If you need to pick up your child from school early, please do so by 2:00 pm
  • You will be required to show your ID upon entering the building. Please do not allow anyone else to follow in behind you and please make sure the door closes behind you
  • You will not be able to enter the building during passing time, at arrival or dismissal. You will need to wait until our hallways are clear before entering
  • You are not permitted in the hallways. You will be required to wait in the office until your appointment time or your child is ready to go home
